Angelina Sedum

Sedum rupestre ‘Angelina’

Full sun to light shade

3” average mature height

Evergreen

June - July blooming time

Discovered in a private garden in Croatia, 'Angelina' is a low growing trailing selection clothed in brilliant golden-yellow spruce-needle shaped foliage. It is superb not only as a general purpose trailing ground cover in small to moderate sized areas, but looks great trailing over the side of terraces and retaining walls, as a rock garden specimen, and as an exceptional container plant. Its flowers, borne during June and July, are lemon-yellow and carried upon upright stems 6-8 inches above the foliage. Cut off if not to your liking.

Suitable companions are many but plants with shades of purple, like sedum 'Purple Emperor' and 'Matrona' and Eupatorium 'Chocolate' and Heuchera 'Stormy Seas' and 'Palace Purple' are absolutely excellent. For cool contrast combine 'Angelina' with shades of blue as found in Salvia 'Viola Klose' and Nepeta selections. And, for sharp contrast try it with red or black foliage as found in Imperata 'Red Dragon' or Ophiopogon 'Nigrescens'.
