PLANT   WEED   WATER   REPEAT

PPQA has an incredibly devoted and hardworking crew of volunteers. You may have seen them in the gardens along Queen Anne Ave at Galer, Boston, and McGraw on Saturday morning, October 16th, digging deep to put in new plants, spreading compost and bark, pruning plants, picking up litter and sweeping gutters and sidewalks. We can’t tell you how good it felt to be together in-person and getting our hands into the garden soil after a one-year pandemic hiatus.

As Board member Denny Bird commented when all was said and done, “Honestly, this is the best the Galer gardens have looked in the last five years.”

Many thanks to all the amazing volunteers, to Starbucks and Safeway for providing beverages and to Seattle Public Utilities for equipping us with gloves, vests, and clean-up supplies as part of their Adopt-A-Street program.

Speaking of which, Picture Perfect Queen Anne has officially joined the Adopt-A-Street program as stewards of the Queen Anne Ave N streetscape from Galer to McGraw. We invite you to join in to keep the sidewalks clean in 2022.

Along with volunteers, PPQA is fortunate to have generous and dedicated donors who dig deep to ensure the gardens remain a vibrant and welcoming presence in the heart of our neighborhood.

Thank you to everyone who believes in and supports
public spaces and beautiful places.

Happy Holidays
